The accomplishment of the formalities to enable the operations of FUNDO MÚTUO DE INVESTIMENTO EM EMPRESAS EMERGENTES INOVADORAS STRATUS VC III, an investment fund in emerging companies in particular of the biodiversity, biotechnology and environment sectors has recently been completed. This Fund, organized and managed by STRATUS INVESTIMENTOS LTDA., has attracted an important group of investors, such as BNDES Participações S. A. – BNDESPAR (BNDESPAR), Fundação Petrobrás de Seguridade Social – PETROS (PETROS), Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos - FINEP (FINEP) and Inter-American Development Bank/Multilateral Investment Fund (IDB/MIF).

For the establishment of the Fund and acquisition of equity interests therein, the parties have been legally assisted by the following legal counsels respectively (i) STRATUS INVESTIMENTOS LTDA.: Carlos José Rolim de Mello and Fabio Lemos Oliveira, of the law firm Machado Meyer Sendacz e Opice Advogados, (ii) BNDESPAR: Maria de Lourdes Coelho Cavalcanti de Albuquerque and Vinicius Sevalho de Almeida Neves (in-house legal counsels), (iii) PETROS: Sandro Gomes da Silva (in-house legal counsel), (iv) FINEP: Glória Affonso and Affonso Berardinelli (in-house legal counsels) and (v) IDB/MIF: Haydee Rosemary Jeronimides (in-house legal counsel). In addition, Maria da Graça Pedretti of Felsberg, Pedretti, Mannrich e Aidar law firm has acted as local legal counsel for FINEP and IDB/MIF.
