Aguilar Castillo Love Honduras, assisted Dufry in the opening of its new anchor store at the new cruise port Mahogany Bay in Roatan, “Islas de la Bahia”, Honduras.

The process for the opening of Dufry new business, took approximately 5 months in which Aguilar Castillo Love’s Honduran team, leader by local partner Enrique Rodriguez Burchard, drafted an innovative legal tax scheme not used before in Roatan Free ZoneRegimen.

This tax scheme was based on the implementation of Central American Custom rules and local Custom and Tax Laws, which provide the client with strong protection against any change in the regulations that could be locally imposed by the free zone authority of the “Islas de la Bahia”, ZOLITUR.

After more than five years in development and two under construction, the $ 62 million Mahogany Bay Cruise Center encompasses 20 acres of waterfront property and includes a two-berth cruise terminal that can accommodate up to 8,000 passengers daily and is expected to host more than 500,000 passengers each year.

In addition to the two-ship cruise pier, the Mahogany Bay Cruise Center offers a welcome center, 2 theme bars, restaurants and several shop. 

Dufry new store is the anchor store in the complex.

Aguilar Castillo Love team was formed by Enrique Rodriguez Burchard as head of it, together with Juan Jose Alcerro Milla, Maria del Mar Lopez Fortin and Juan Diego Lacayo.
