Recently, García & Bodán, through Mayra Navarrete, Associate of the Intellectual Property Department in Nicaragua, has obtained a favorable ruling on the objection declared under the Article 79 of the Law of Trademarks and Other Distinctive Signs, raised by the Intellectual Property Registry, against the registration of the well-known mark Sábado Gigante, proving by documentary evidence that the owner of this well-known mark belongs to Coral Trademarks Inc., having the Intellectual Property Registry to raise the objection and allowing the registration of the mark.
The well-known mark Sábado Gigante has been used to distinguish the television program first broadcast in Chile in 1962 and certified by the Guinness Book of records as the longest running in the world today being broadcast on different television stations in 43 countries and lively during its history by the Chilean Mario Kreutzberger, better knowing as Don Francisco.
