John Markland is a partner in Dechert’s London office. Mr. Markland represents both borrowers and lenders in many European and international jurisdictions, on issues arising across a diverse range of industries, including chemicals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, construction, automotive, banking, telecommunications, media, and technology. 

His more than two decades of experience span a broad spectrum of finance transactions, but his focus throughout the last decade has been on acquisition finance, debt restructurings, and other event-driven finance matters.

Mr. Markland frequently lectures on private equity and acquisition finance at the London Business School, where he has been closely involved in LBS’s Coller Private Equity Institute since its inception in 2005.
