Juan Carlos has more than 20 years of experience in tax law practice, specializing in international tax planning structures, supply chain tax planning, tax advice on multi-jurisdictional taxation, foreign trade, incentive regimes and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).  

Juan Carlos holds an LL.M in Economic Law from Utrecht Universteit, Faculty of Law and Economic Institute and an LL.M. in Foreign Companies and International Trade from the University of Barcelona. He holds a law degree from Universidad Escuela Libre de Derecho de Costa Rica and studied business administration and accounting at Universidad Fidélitas de Costa Rica. 
He is Director of the Tax Policy Committee and member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) of Costa Rica, member of the Costa Rican Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association (IFA), Costa Rica chapter.
