Pilar focuses her practice on corporate law, advising Chilean and foreign clients primarily concerning mergers and acquisitions, strategic and private equity transactions, capital markets, and FinTech.
In M&A, she has participated in numerous complex purchase and sale operations involving both public and private companies, spanning various industries such as technology, telecommunication, agribusiness, financial services, and investments.
Her expertise extends to cross-border transactions, where she has represented clients on both the buy and sell side operations including the negotiation of majority and minority stakes. María del Pilar’s involvement spans from initial structuring to post-closing matters. She negotiates and drafts critical documents such as stock purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and other essential M&A documentation.

In Capital Markets, Pilar provides guidance on a range of matters including initial public offerings (IPOs), private and public placements; securities issuances, mergers, divisions, and shares exchange of publicly held companies. Pilar’s expertise also extends to bond issuances, credit line registrations, amendments to bond issuance agreements, prepayment of bonds, ADRs and stock options, among others, provided to issuers, underwriters, and financial advisors. Her comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks and market dynamics ensures that clients receive tailored solutions that align with their strategic objectives.

Pilar is also active in the Venture Capital and FinTech markets, offering advice to venture capital firms and entrepreneurs in establishing and managing investment funds and startup vehicles.
