Trethowans’ Banking and Finance Team comprises 7 specialist banking lawyers with a further 15 additional lawyers across our real estate, corporate, agricultural, and insolvency teams providing support to them on finance transactions. 
Steve Cole heads the Banking and Finance practice supported by fellow partners Emma Earp and Nick Gent. Steve and his team moved to us from key rivals Blake Morgan where he previously headed up Blake Morgan’s banking team in the South.
Key clients include HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest (including Coutts) and Santander along with a number of specialist lenders, including Onyx (Development Finance) and Doorway Capital (Receivables Funding). 
The borrower side of the banking and finance practice also continues to go from strength to strength, with the firm winning banking instructions from a wide number of the firm’s high-profile corporate clients. 
Industry specialisms include acquisition finance, property and development finance, agricultural and rural property finance, receivables and asset based lending, debt restructuring and lslamic finance.
