Urania has over 20 years of experience providing legal advice in the areas of foreign investment, corporate law, aviation law, banking law, contracts, free trade agreements, distribution agreements and mergers and acquisitions. 

Among her most representative matters, Urania has assisted JetBlue Airways Corporation in the opening of new routes in the Dominican Republic, as well as on all regulatory and safety issues to ensure the correct functioning of their operations in the country. She has also represented the Dominican Lawyers Guild during the negotiations of the Free Trade Agreement between Central America and the Dominican Republic, protecting the interests of Dominican lawyers. 

She has assisted prestigious international brands such as Louis Vuitton, Swarovski, L’Oreal, Volvo, Fiat, Daimler, General Electric, Procter & Gamble, among others, in matters related to distribution and franchising agreements. She has also assisted several international companies in their establishment in the country, such as a gas compression plant and a liquor aging company. 

Urania was part of the legal team that advised the Association of Soft Drink Industries of the Dominican Republic, Inc. in the process initiated before the Unfair Trade Practice Regulatory Commission with regards to the implementation of safeguard measures to imports of containers and glass jars from all origins. This was one of the first cases brought before this regulatory committee pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 1-02 on Unfair Practices Trade and Safeguard Measures.

EDUCATION

• Urania received her Bachelor of Laws from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in 1999.
• In 2001, she graduated from the master’s in international legal studies from Washington College of Law in American University.
• She has participated in several law and business programs in Georgetown University (2002) and Florida International University (2003, 2004).
