Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in the banking sector, focusing on corporate debt. While he has extensive experience in debt financing, he has particular expertise in the real estate space and in debt restructuring.
Most particularly, he is adviser of choice in respect of the provision of Scots Law advice to English and international law firms in relation to large debt restructurings and portfolio sales. His remit includes project managing large due diligence exercises, significant input to strategic planning and transactional delivery, operating as Scots lead on cross border and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
He has recently led all Scottish advice required on NatWest Project Mercatus - Loan Portfolio Sale (Publishable Matter 1), a significant transaction with a value in excess of £400m and the first of an expected new round of loan portfolio sales.
Andrew is particularly noted for his clear communication style, commerciality in negotiations and provision of robust, measured, advice in high value, pressured and time sensitive transactions.
CareerAndrew is a partner in our Banking and Finance team. His main focus is on debt finance, acting for UK clearing banks and UK and international lenders. He also has extensive experience in the sale and purchase of loan portfolios.
He has more than 25 years’ experience of advising clearing banks, funds and other financial institutions, specialising in corporate debt financings and general bank advisory work. His debt finance experience covers a range of sectors including acquisition finance, real estate finance and debt restructuring and insolvency.
