A syndicate of international banks granted a loan to Gran Tierra Energy International Holdings Ltd.

Posse Herrera Ruiz acted as Colombian legal advisor to the syndicate of six international banks, led by The Bank of Nova Scotia, in the financing for US$500 million to Gran Tierra Energy International Holdings Ltd., a company engaged in oil and gas exploration, development and production in Colombia, Peru and Brazil. The borrower has presence in Colombia through two subsidiaries that are active in the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the country. Security governed under Colombian law was granted as part of the security package of the loan.
