BLP advises the group of creditors that provided funds for the 4G highway project in Colombia
BLP advised the group of creditors who facilitated the funds for the transaction in which Constructora Meco, MHC Ingeniería, Pavimentos Colombia and Ingeniería de Vías obtained a refinancing of US $ 295 million for a 4G highway project in Colombia granted by BlackRock, MUFG Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Banco de Bogotá, Colombia Infrastructure Debt Private Equity Fund, Senior Debt Fund for Infrastructure in Colombia, CAF-AM Ashmore I and Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional.
The BLP team participated in the drafting and review of the documents to be signed by Constructora MECO S.A. within the structure designed for this refinancing of an essential infrastructure work for the Republic of Colombia. Additionally, BLP advised the group of creditors in the granting of guarantees as well as in the verification of capacities and powers. The transaction was carried out on December 28, 2021.

On the Creditors’ side, the international advisers under New York State law were Clifford Chance: Luis Maria Clouet, Julián Hurtado Vallejo and Fernando Castillo. The advisers in Colombia were Philippi Prietocarrizosa & Uría: Juan Fernando Gaviria, Clara Robledo, Angie Gómez, Daniela Hernández. Regarding MECO, in Costa Rica, its advisors were Vector Legal with the participation of Partner Jessica Arroyo and Associate Gabriela Gómez.
