Baker & McKenzie elects Monterrey Partner to Global Executive Committee
Baker & McKenzie announced the appointment of Andrés Ochoa-Bünsow, a partner in the Monterrey, Mexico office, to a position on the Firm?s Executive Committee, effective in October 2003. Mr. Ochoa-Bünsow will also Chair the firm?s Latin American Regional Council.
Commenting on his appointment, Ochoa-Bünsow said, ?I am very pleased to have been elected by my fellow partners to such a role of global leadership within the Firm. I look forward to assisting in the strategic direction of the Firm as a whole, as well as participating directly in the continuing growth and development of the Firm in the Latin American region.?
Baker & McKenzie?s Executive Committee is the principal management body of the global Firm, and is comprised of seven geographic appointees and a Chairman. Ochoa-Bünsow will replace Sao Paulo, Brazil Partner Eduardo Leite as the Latin America representative on the Committee. Leite?s term expires in October, and he will be returning to practice with the Firm?s Major Projects and Project Finance Practice Group and will be the Chairman of the Brazilian Offices.
Ochoa-Bünsow became an international partner of Baker & McKenzie in 1986 in the Corporate and Transactional Practice Group, and has since served on the Firm?s Policy Committee, the Latin American Regional Council and most recently on the global Financial Committee. He focuses his practice on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions; securities; foreign investment and commercial law.
