Bofill Mir continues its strategic growth with the addition of Tomás Blake and Daniel Martorell as new partners. With these additions, the firm strengthens its capabilities in areas of high legal sensitivity and growing complexity, enhancing its leadership in Public and Regulatory Law and launching a new Criminal Law practice integrated into its key services. With these additions, Bofill Mir now has a total of 12 partners.

The addition of Tomás Blake as a partner in the Public and Regulatory Law area, alongside current partner Andrea Abascal, reinforces a leadership structure designed to sustainably drive a key practice in Chile’s regulatory agenda.

"The interaction between the state, businesses, and communities constitutes a complex but inherent balance in development, which requires a strategic vision that anticipates risks and enables projects.

Our practice seeks to advise and accompany clients in critical decisions, integrating the regulatory perspective into their corporate challenges," said Blake about the synergies of his specialty with the development focuses of Bofill Mir.

On the other hand, with the addition of Daniel Martorell as a partner, the firm is launching the Criminal Law area, which has been integrated into its strategic axes from the outset. Martorell’s career has been linked to complex matters in which he has participated alongside the Mining, Corporate, and Regulatory teams, a collaboration that is now being consolidated, incorporating that expert perspective into our service offering and our clients’ most sensitive challenges.

In this regard, Martorell added that "beyond the technical aspects, Criminal Law becomes a strategic resource for promoting sustainable business. The launch of this practice reflects the growing need for preventive and crisis advice, integrated into the corporate, regulatory, and reputational reality of our clients."

These moves stem from constant monitoring and understanding of our clients’ needs and strengthen key capabilities with an integrated, technical, and business-oriented approach.

Octavio Bofill, partner and member of the Executive Committee, commented: "The addition of Daniel and Tomás responds to a clear conviction: to grow with a focus on the needs that reality imposes on our clients, whom we accompany in their businesses. Both partners share the firm’s strategic vision and will strengthen areas that require specialization, legal expertise, and a keen understanding of the public and corporate environment."

He added that this stage also reaffirms something that has been part of the firm’s history: a track record marked by the ability to build teams, strengthen practices, and project them with a long-term vision.

Tomás Blake is a lawyer from Adolfo Ibáñez University and holds an LLM in Public Law from University College London (UCL).
He joins as a partner in the Public and Regulatory Law team, bringing more than a decade of experience in legal advice to companies, trade associations, and public bodies on matters of administrative law, with a focus on litigation and public procurement, concession services, and relations with state bodies.
Throughout his career, he has practiced in specialized law firms, led the legal department of a key trade association in the energy sector, and gained international experience as a visiting lawyer at Baker Botts LLP in London.
He remains active in the academic sphere, teaching at various universities and participating in discussion and refresher forums in his area of expertise.
In addition to his LLM, he holds a Diploma in Public Economic Law from the University of Chile and a Diploma in Public Infrastructure Concessions Law from Diego Portales University.

Daniel Martorell is a lawyer with a PhD in Law and a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences from the Universities of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra, as well as a Master’s degree in Law with a specialization in Criminal Law from the University of Chile.
He joins the Criminal Law team as a partner, bringing with him more than 15 years of experience in litigation and criminal law consulting, with a notable practice in complex defenses and insurance fraud cases.
He has worked in specialized law firms, served as an advisor to trade associations and public entities, and acted as an external consultant for insurance companies.
