Consortium Legal - Costa Rica, appoints 5 new Partners
Consortium Legal - Costa Rica, promoted and appointed 5 new partners and 1 senior associate in their Labor Law, Securities Law, Real Estate and Corporate Law, and Banking and Finance Departments. The new partners are highly specialized professionals, with a long track record within the Firm and extensive experience in each of their areas of practice.
This appointment is part of the process of specialization and constant growth of the Firm, with which its Costa Rican office now totals 18 partners.
In the Labor Law practice, Carolina Soto Monge was appointed who co-directs the practice with Osvaldo Madriz Ramirez. Carolina has been part of the Firm for 12 years and given her extensive knowledge in corporate labor matters, she has spent the last 8 years of her career developing this specialized area advising important local and transnational companies, as well as participating in acquisition and integration processes for large-scale employers.
In the Securities practice, María José Cole Hernández was appointed, who has extensive experience in the area of financial and securities markets. María José has been directing this practice for 7 years and during her career has been Director of Legal Counsel at the Bolsa Nacional de Valores, Central de Valores (CEVAL) and mayor securities group.
The Real Estate and Corporate Law practice is led by partners David Reuben Hatounian and Juan Manuel Cordero Esquivel. Our Corporate Law practice also includes our current partner Juan Manuel Godoy Pérez. David Reuben joined the firm 15 years ago, and after serving as co-director of corporate banking practice, as of 2012 he has served as co-director of real estate and corporate practice, advising clients on real estate issues, as well as mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracting and foreign investment. Juan Manuel Cordero Esquivel joined the firm 8 years ago and has more than 14 years of experience in the real estate sector, also advising our clients in the area of corporate law and private contracting.
In the Financial Services area Andrés Chamberlain Gallegos was appointed, who has vast experience in Banking and Finance practice. Andrés joined the Firm 18 years ago and serves as director of the consumer credit practice, advising banks, financial institutions and private investors on credit and financing issues for high volume segments such as retail or consumer credit and SMEs.
Mónica Arias Madrigal was also promoted to Senior Associate. She has more than 15 years of experience in banking, and prior to joining the Firm in 2012, she worked for more than 10 years as internal legal counsel to the Bank of Costa Rica in the areas of banking and financial law, legal advice in commercial, regulatory, compliance matters, as well as procedures before the National Consumer Commission, among others. She currently provides legal advice to local and international banks on regulatory, contractual, and compliance issues, participating in structuring credit, bond issuances, among others.
