Consortium Legal – Costa Rica names two new partners for its Litigation Practice Area
Consortium Legal’s Costa Rica office, as part of its dedication to growth and development of each of its practice areas, announces that it recently named Jose Pablo Valverde Marín a Practice Partner. It also announces that Andrés Martinez Chaves has recently joined the firm and he too will be a Practice Partner. Both will be co-directors of the Litigation Practice under the leadership of Partner Rolando Laclé Zúñiga.
Jose Pablo Valverde Marín has been with Consortium Leal since 2008. He has a Master’s in Business Law and has 18 years of experience in judicial and arbitration procedures in both civil and business matters related to damages, breach of contract, construction, and banking and finance. He has represented public, private, and international banks, as well as local and international businesses. He has depth of experience in business and finance, escrow, and complex investment contracts.
Andrés Martinez Chaves joined the firm in 2020. Over his legal career, he has studied two specialties, the first in tax matters; the second in administrative disputes and regulatory law. He has 18 years of experience as an attorney, notably in civil and commercial litigation in both judiciary courts and arbitration forums. He has participated in Administrative Proceedings including against the Costa Rican tax authorities; complex litigation related to foreign company representative disputes, condominium property law and real estate law and contract breach and resolution between foreign and national companies, as well as corporate litigation.
