DLA Piper appoints new senior partner for Spain

DLA Piper has appointed corporate lawyer Iñigo Gomez-Jordana as Co-Senior Partner in Spain. Iñigo joins the firm from Allen & Overy where he was Senior Partner of the Madrid office. He will work alongside the firm's incumbent Senior Partner in Spain, Juan Picon.

Iñigo has over 20 years' experience advising on debt and equity capital markets transactions, corporate finance and corporate transactions, particularly cross-border mergers & acquisitions and public take-overs. He has taken part in some of the largest transactions in Spain in recent years including acting for Imperial Tobacco on its recommended takeover of Altadis and advising Iberdrole on its acquisition of Scottish Power. 

During 2014,  Iñigo acted for the Joint Lead Managers in the first and second AT1 issue of Banco Santander as well as advising LOGISTA as issuer counsel on its IPO in July.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Iñigo was Managing Partner of  Allen & Overy in Spain for 13 years before becoming Senior Partner in January 2014. He is a professor of Corporate Law at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the author of various research publications.
