Garrigues strengthens its M&A practice in Colombia with the appointment of Andrés Crump
Garrigues has hired Andrés Crump as a partner in its Bogotá office for the Corporate M&A practice. His appointment, which must be ratified at the next Garrigues partners’ meeting, will provide a major boost to the area.
With more than 20 years of experience, Crump is widely recognized for having advised on some of the most relevant transactions in Colombia (and in other countries such as Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru), with a particular focus on the infrastructure and energy sectors. His experience includes private transactions, public sector-driven privatization processes and open market operations, as well as shareholder acquisitions and public offerings with an aggregate value in excess of US$20 billion.
Mr. Crump holds Master’s degrees in Law from Columbia University (New York) and in Finance from Universidad de Los Andes (Bogota), where he also obtained his law degree.
Before joining Garrigues, he developed his professional career in various law firms. In addition, for more than ten years he worked at Brookfield Asset Management where he was Senior Vice President and where he advised on numerous transactions in the infrastructure and energy sectors in Latin America. He is recognized by directories such as Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.
