Loreto Bresky, Partner of Alessandri, won INTA "pro bono trademark industry award"

Alessandri is proud to announce that the International Trademark Association (INTA) honored Loreto Bresky with the Volunteer Service Award (VSA) in the Pro Bono Services Provided by Individuals category. INTA is a global member based organization dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce.

The VSAs recognize individuals who provide exemplary volunteer service to INTA during the past year. Ms. Bresky made a tremendous impact through her pro bono work and by volunteering both her time and expertise to support the Association’s goals and objectives as outlined in the 2014–2017 Strategic Plan.

As Pro Bono Coordinator for Alessandri Ms. Bresky assisted America Solidaria—a Chile-based nonprofit network with offices across the Americas which promotes effective volunteer engagement in the poorest and most underprivileged communities—to register its trademarks in many Latin American countries. During this project, Ms. Bresky provided advice on trademark and logo registration in multiple countries. She also played a key role in the firm committing to the "Pro Bono Attorneys for the Americas" agreement, through which each of the firm’s lawyers conducts a minimum of 20 hours pro bono work each year.

"Pro bono is not only a rewarding part of being a legal practitioner but a tradition and duty within the legal profession," said INTA President Mei-lan Stark. "It is through the efforts of individuals like Loreto that the next generation of lawyers is inspired to assume this responsibility and dedicate their time and skills through pro bono. On behalf of INTA and its members, I would like to thank Loreto for the positive impact she has brought to her nonprofits and their causes."
