Renewal of tax id and other tax documents

Arias Law - Through notice 059-03-2024 issued on March 12, 2024, the Tax Authority of Nicaragua (DGI) has announced the option to obtain tax documents through the document printing module, which is accessible via the "electronic tax window" (VET).

The documents available for issuance include the Tax ID, registration certificate, and proof of definitive registration. Taxpayers affiliated with both the general regime and the fixed fee regime are eligible to acquire these documents via the VET, with the sole condition that the taxpayer must be in good standing with the DGI.

Previously, Nicaraguan taxpayers had to make the request in person and accompanied by a series of documents. The notice issued by the DGI entails the reduction of response times and requirements, as well as the use of technological tools to improve the tax management of taxpayers.

As for the Board of Directors, Legal Representative, shareholder composition and tax domicile, they remain mandatory and the request for such updates must be made in person at the Tax Administration where the taxpayer is registered.
