Jose Mario is a Senior Associate of BLP in the Liberia office. He specializes in the practice areas of Business Law and Real Estate & Hospitality.

In Business Law, he has experience providing advice on day-to-day matters for national and transnational companies, as well as the procedures related to the administration, allocation and purchase of capital stock, and mergers and acquisitions. In the practice of Real Estate & Hospitality, he has participated in the start-up and operation of real estate development projects in urban and coastal areas of Costa Rica, especially in the Province of Guanacaste, where he provides legal advice on the purchase and sale of real estate developments, including residential projects. He has extensive experience in real estate due diligence, Land Use Regulations, Regulatory Plans, and Land Maritime Zone, and also in administrative processing, obtaining permits from municipal authorities, and valuation of properties. He has obtained Declarations of Tourist Interest and Tourism Contracts before the ICT and dealt with issues related to the Gulf of Papagayo Tourist Project.

He joined the BLP team in 2007 as a legal assistant, after working as a Judicial Assistant in the Criminal Court of Liberia, Guanacaste. He was named an Associate in 2011.
