María Elena has advised national and international companies in complex disputes related to the interpretation and enforcement of contracts, precautionary measures, civil liability, shareholder disputes, whistleblower investigations, and compliance matters, among others. She has also participated in matters related to the insurance sector.
She has experience across several sectors, including mining, franchising, energy, corporate, banking, and finance. As part of her practice, she has coordinated strategies in collaboration with teams from different jurisdictions and, in other cases, jointly with other practice areas such as criminal and labour law, in order to present a unified strategy.
Her litigation experience includes proceedings before local and federal courts in ordinary, summary, special, and oral trials. She has also been involved in constitutional (amparo) proceedings filed against actions of administrative and regulatory authorities.
In arbitration matters, she has participated in domestic and international proceedings conducted under institutional rules such as those of the ICC and the Arbitration Centre of Mexico, among others.
