Pérez-Llorca welcomes Adal Salamanca as a tax partner

February 02, 2026

Pérez-Llorca has announced the appointment of Adal Salamanca as a new tax partner in its Madrid office to strengthen this practice, specifically in the area of tax litigation and procedure.

Salamanca has a solid track record in tax advice to companies, with a special focus on tax litigation and the defense of taxpayers in verification, inspection, and sanction proceedings, as well as in the various avenues of appeal provided for in both national and EU legislation. Throughout his career, he has provided advice on highly complex matters, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and taking a comprehensive approach focused on client needs. In this area, he has led tax proceedings in all their phases and avenues of appeal, both in administrative courts and in contentious-administrative courts and before EU bodies and agencies. He also has extensive experience advising European and third-country investment and pension funds on the recovery of taxes in Spain arising from their investments.

With this addition, Salamanca joins Pérez-Llorca’s Tax team and will work in coordination with the firm’s other offices. His appointment further strengthens this practice, following the internal promotion announced last December of 12 partners and 5 counsels, including Antonio Ruiz and Yi Zhou, who were appointed as new Tax partners.

Adal Salamanca holds a law degree from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a master’s degree in Taxation and Tax Consulting from the Center for Financial Studies, and various programs and diplomas from business schools such as IESE and IE. In addition, Salamanca is a professor at various universities where he teaches subjects related to tax procedure and crimes against the Treasury.

In the words of Clara Jiménez, partner in charge of the Tax Department at Pérez-Llorca: "Adal’s incorporation is part of our strategy to grow and strengthen the Tax Department and, specifically, the procedural and tax litigation area, where we already have a very strong position. Adal will be developing the area of substantive litigation and, in general, foreign entities with a presence in Spain, for which we consider Adal’s clear specialization to be appropriate. In the current context of review, or even questioning, of some international tax paradigms, we believe it is essential to have a team dedicated exclusively to this area in its contentious aspect."

For Julio Lujambio, executive partner at Pérez-Llorca, "the Tax area is one of the firm’s strategic practices and plays a key role in the comprehensive advice we offer our clients. In an environment marked by increasing regulatory complexity, having a solid and highly specialized team is essential. The addition of Adal reinforces this commitment and confirms the importance of the Tax practice within our project."
