Alina Bendersky Furman Appointed Young Liaison Officer to the IBA’s Mining Law Committee
Bofill Mir’s Alina Bendersky Furman has been appointed Liaison Officer of the Young Lawyers’ Committee to the Mining Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) for the 2025–2026 term. Her appointment marks a significant milestone in her legal career and highlights her growing leadership in the field of international mining law.
Bendersky’s practice focuses on mining and natural resources law, with extensive experience in project development and financing, due diligence processes for natural resource transactions, mining title strategy, and contract preparation. She has also played a key role in obtaining mining-related permits and negotiating special mining contracts.
She has developed particular expertise in advising clients on lithium-related matters, supported by her deep knowledge of Chile’s regulatory framework for this strategic mineral.
For the 2024–2025 period, she was also appointed as a member of the International Committee of The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (FNREL). In addition, she is an active member of Women in Mining Chile (WIM Chile) and the Chilean chapter of Women in the Profession.
Her work has earned recognition from major international legal rankings. Chambers and Partners lists her as "Up and Coming" in Mining, while The Legal 500 (2025 edition) names her a "Next Generation Partner" in the same category.
Alina Bendersky holds a Law degree from the University of Chile (2011), was admitted to the Bar by the Supreme Court of Chile (2013), and earned an LL.M. in Environmental and Energy Law and Policy from Georgetown University (2018).
Her appointment to the IBA underscores her strong commitment to international legal networks and to fostering the next generation of mining law professionals.
