Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP once again favours this year the corporate practice in Spain, electing Javier Monzón to the role of partner.
Javier joined Freshfields in 2006. He has a Law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He advises companies and financial institutions on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and restructurings. Javier has been very active in the financial sector restructuring process in Spain. His experience also includes capital markets transactions, acting for both Spanish issuers and financial entities.
Armando Albarrán, Head of the Corporate Practice Group in Spain, commented: “Javier’s appointment is just a reward for his outstanding professional career and strengthens our exceptional offering of expertise to national and international clients in mergers and acquisitions, and private equity transactions. Javier forms part of a balanced team of first-rate lawyers, with many years’ joint experience advising clients at the national or international level as required, independently of where we have a physical presence – a capacity that is very highly valued by our clients.”
David Franco, a partner in our corporate group and the managing partner for our Madrid office, added: “Javier Monzón’s appointment acknowledges his great contribution to the firm since joining in 2006, his commitment to client service and his dedication to the firm. We wish him every success in his new role.”
Monzón’s promotion to partner, effective from 1 May 2016, will be made together with another 15 promotions across Freshfields offices.
