Freshfields elects new counsel in Spain
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP has elected Joe Amann to the role of counsel.
Joe is an English-law qualified lawyer, a specialist in capital markets and cross-border M&A and has been based in Spain since 2010. He is rated in Chambers as an expert lawyer in Capital Markets: UK-qualified Experts (Spain) and Debt & Equity (Experts Based Abroad) (UK). He regularly advises issuers and underwriters on a variety of debt and equity capital markets transactions, including IPOs, EMTN and ECP programmes and note issuances. He has recently advised on the IPOs of Euskaltel, Hispania Activos Inmobiliarios and Merlin Properties SOCIMI (which recently joined the select club of blue chip companies listed on the Ibex 35), and their respective right issues, and on the issue of hybrid bonds by Gas Natural and Repsol, as well as AENA’s and Ardian’s acquisition of Luton Airport. He has a law degree from University College London (UCL) and speaks Spanish, English and German.

The promotion, effective from 1 January 2016, will be made together with another 11 promotions across six different practice groups in eight different offices.
