Opdenergy Refinances Renewable Energy Portfolio with US$227 Million Green Loan

July 08, 2026

Carey | Opdenergy, through its subsidiaries Opdenergy Generación, Ra Solar and Opdenergy PMGD, has refinanced a portfolio of renewable energy projects under a project finance structure for up to US$227 million. The transaction was signed on June 17, 2026, and involves Chile, the United States (New York) and Spain.

The refinancing was structured as a green loan project finance transaction that combines multiple renewable generation technologies into a single financing structure, consolidating all of the original financings into one credit facility.

The facility comprises four tranches linked to the Sol de los Andes photovoltaic plant (104 MWp), the La Estrella wind farm (50 MW), the Sol de los Andes battery energy storage system (BESS) project (89 MW), the Alcones photovoltaic plant (90 MW), a PMGD portfolio consisting of Llay Llay, Lingue and Los Magnolios, and VAT financing for the Alcones photovoltaic plant. The financing also includes an optional incremental tranche for the Alcones BESS project (90 MW).

Carey advised on the transaction through partner Felipe Moro and associates Alejandro Toro, Magdalena Menchaca, Mateo Weinborn, Felipe Dalgalarrando, Gonzalo Ramos and Ignacia Mayne-Nicholls. Clifford Chance acted as counsel to Opdenergy, while White & Case advised the lenders, hedge providers and issuing banks.
