Pérez-Llorca accelerates its Latin American expansion with the integration of Miranda & Amado in Peru
Pérez-Llorca and Miranda & Amado have reached a full legal and economic integration agreement to create the leading law firm in Ibero-America, in a transaction described as an unprecedented milestone in the Peruvian legal market, representing the first full merger between a leading local firm and a top-tier Ibero-American law firm.
The integration, expected to be completed in the coming weeks subject to approval by the governing bodies of both firms, significantly strengthens Pérez-Llorca’s Latin American expansion and consolidates a regional platform with a strategic presence in Mexico, Colombia and Peru.
The transaction combines the local leadership of Miranda & Amado with the international platform of Pérez-Llorca, reinforcing the integrated firm’s positioning in major corporate transactions, financings and local and cross-border disputes. With the addition of approximately 240 members from Miranda & Amado, Pérez-Llorca will reach nearly 1,300 professionals globally, around 700 of whom will be based in Latin America.
The firm will thereby consolidate a regional structure focused on advising major international companies, investment banks and financial sponsors with interests in the region. The integration will also strengthen the firm’s ability to advise both on local transactions and on investment flows into Peru from the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The integrated firm also aims to establish itself as a leading player in major international disputes linked to Ibero-American jurisdictions. At the same time, the partners of Miranda & Amado will join the governing bodies of Pérez-Llorca and assume leadership roles in key international practice areas.
The Peruvian transaction follows Pérez-Llorca’s previous integrations with González Calvillo in Mexico and Gómez-Pinzón in Colombia, moves that have shaped the so-called Scala Project, the firm’s strategy to build an integrated Ibero-American platform with coordinated capabilities for multi-jurisdictional matters on both sides of the Atlantic.
Both firms arrive at this integration backed by strong international recognition, together holding 50 Band 1 and 2 rankings in Chambers & Partners and 61 Tier 1 and 2 rankings in Legal 500. Miranda & Amado has also recently been recognised with the Chambers & Partners Client Service Award Peru 2026 and is ranked as an Elite firm in Latin Lawyer 250, a distinction it shares with Pérez-Llorca Mexico and Pérez-Llorca Colombia.
The integration forms part of the Scala Project, the initiative launched by Pérez-Llorca to build an integrated Ibero-American law firm with homogeneous service standards and coordinated advisory capabilities for multi-jurisdictional transactions.
Following the integrations completed in Mexico in 2024 and Colombia in 2025, Peru now becomes a key component in the firm’s Latin American consolidation. The resulting firm will offer advice on Spanish, Portuguese, European, Mexican, Colombian and Peruvian law from offices in Barcelona, Bogotá, Brussels, Mexico City, Lima, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Medellín, Monterrey, New York and Singapore.
A new office in Abu Dhabi is also expected to open during 2026, aimed at supporting Middle Eastern investors in transactions involving the Iberian Peninsula and the Americas. The Ibero-American legal market is already speculating on what could become Pérez-Llorca’s next regional expansion target following Mexico, Colombia and Peru.
Several industry voices point to Chile as the natural candidate for a potential future integration, given the sophistication of its legal market, the volume of cross-border transactions and the increasing interest of international firms in strengthening their regional presence there.
In the words of Pedro Pérez-Llorca, Managing Partner of Pérez-Llorca: "The integration with Miranda & Amado represents a new milestone in a project launched three years ago with a clear ambition: to build a leading, solid and sustainable Ibero-American law firm. Following Mexico and Colombia, Peru strengthens our presence in Latin America and consolidates a growth model based on full integrations with leading firms that share our culture, standards of excellence and vision of legal practice."
José Daniel Amado, Founding Partner of Miranda & Amado, stated: "This integration is an extraordinary opportunity to combine the reputation, track record and talent of Miranda & Amado with the international reach of Pérez-Llorca. It arises from the meeting of two firms with the ambition to lead the market, strengthen their local presence and build an unprecedented global platform in the region."
Iván Delgado, International Executive Partner of Pérez-Llorca, added that "Latin America is a strategic priority" and said the integration represents "a qualitative leap" in the firm’s ability to deliver coordinated, high value-added services to clients across the region.
