Once again Cartagena has been chosen as the venue for an international event organized by ASIPI. As it happened eight years ago, the Colombian city hosted a large number of Latin American participants and also from other continents, all of them specialists in Intellectual Property and interested in taking part of “XIX Congress of the Inter-american Association of Intelectual Property“. It's noteworthy the participation of Mr. Oscar Mago, CEO of the Peruvian firm OMC Abogados & Consultores.
The organizing committee of ASIPI scheduled from November 29th to December 2nd in the Convention Center of Cartagena several conferences that allowed the professionals in the field to be updated on the current situation of intellectual property in the world. Among the most important matters we can mention the followings: "Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH): Implications for Latin American countries", "The Right of Attribution": New sui generis rights in the world - Memes as an Advertising Strategy - What are Mashups?", "3D Printing and its relation to Intellectual Property"”.
In addition to the academic part, it was also scheduled a variety of social activities to create contact and strengthen networks created among participants. The hosts offered a welcome cocktail at “La Terraza del Claustro de las Animas” and a closing dinner at the Hilton hotel beach as well as other receptions that were in charge of the Colombian law firms.
