About Meranol (Meranol.com.ar)

is the first national producer of Aluminum Sulfate (since 1942) and the second producer of Sulfuric Acid in Argentina, critical products for water and effluent treatment, the first in its coagulant function and the second in its PH regulation function. The company has more than 30 products in its portfolio, more than 350 regular customers, and more than US$ 50 million invested in the country.

At its state-of-the-art plant in Dock Sud, Buenos Aires, Meranol markets solid sulfur and industrializes it to produce intermediate stages (molten and filtered sulfur), which it offers to the market and uses as raw material to produce sulfuric acid. This production plant is one of the main nodes of the integrated production chain, which is demanded by most of the country’s industrial sector and, in turn, uses it as an intermediate product in the integrated production matrix for the production of solid and liquid aluminum sulfate with other raw materials (aluminum hydroxide and bauxite) and also to produce iron oxides (pigments).

In the integration of sulfur chemistry, the company manufactures different types of sulfonic acid (base for detergents) and sodium lauryl ether sulfate by sulfating ethoxylated fatty alcohols, mainly for the hygiene and personal care industry and for agribusiness.

In order to increase the industrial supply of locally manufactured chemical products, the company has set up a multipurpose reactor plant with state-of-the-art technology to expand the range of complementary products to sodium lauryl ether sulfate, and a new surfactant plant to sulfate high mole alcohols for the oil and gas industry.

In addition, Meranol distributes in the market other industrial chemicals from companies all over the world, of which it is the commercial representative in Argentina.
