This is the day four young lawyers decide to start their own firm.

That is where ASFM is born, setting out from day one to offer a different approach to the practice of law and to working with its clients. They could say a lot about their team, their years of experience, their past at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, their successful cases, the national and international firms that have trusted them, and their recognition by Chambers & Partners… but that would be more of the same.

And if anything drove them to build one of Uruguay’s most recognised, capable and respected firms, it was the desire to do things differently: to innovate, pursue excellence and efficiency in processes and timelines, stay agile and cut through bureaucracy; to put themselves in the client’s shoes and seek solutions where others sometimes do not. To put their name and effort into every assignment, whatever its size. Above all, to build relationships based on trust. Because they know that trust is increasingly hard to come by—and that it is the most valuable thing they have.
