The firm was founded by Carlos Nevett and Pedro Mezquita in 1992, after they completed postgraduate studies at Harvard University. José Rafael Bermúdez joined in 2006, bringing experience as a partner at an internationally recognised law firm and as a professor of tax law. Since then, the firm has added new partners: Alejandra Cerviño in 2008; Katherine De Bastos, Alejandro Sosa and Oscar H. Velutini in 2015; and Claudia Madrid Martínez in 2016. Manuel López Fonseca, a partner at the firm since 1998, continues as of counsel at Lopez & Wardle LLP, a New York-based law firm.

They have extensive experience in international work and have completed postgraduate studies at leading universities, including Harvard University, New York University, Universität zu Köln, London School of Economics, Universidad Central de Venezuela and Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
