Vision:
To hold a distinguished place in the legal community, based on its contributions to the law
History:
MANUEL RIERA MILLERES (1892-1957), a lawyer who graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (1916), and earned a doctorate in jurisprudence (1916), served as president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Banco del Paraguay, the Paraguayan Bar Association, the Rural Association of Paraguay and the Touring y Automovil Club del Paraguay. He began the family’s legal tradition and founded the firm. In 1950, lawyers JOSÉ MARÍA BONÍN, ENRIQUE RIERA FIGUEREDO, JOSÉ DOMINGO ZANOTTI-CAVAZZONI AND JOSÉ MARÍA ANGULO continued the legal practice. Today, the third—and a fourth—generation of lawyers carry on the work.
ESTUDIO JURÍDICO RIERA, abogados has a flat structure based on the provision of personal service by its members (a hands-on approach to legal practice).
ESTUDIO JURÍDICO RIERA, abogados focuses primarily on civil and commercial law, intellectual property, and the day-to-day administrative, employment and tax matters involved in running a business. When the circumstances or complexity of a matter require it, the firm draws on specialists in the relevant fields who are affiliated with the firm. These professionals form part of the support teams assembled by the firm, alongside local and foreign advisers.
ESTUDIO JURÍDICO RIERA, abogados has the infrastructure required to provide its services. It operates from well-appointed offices and has modern communications and computing systems, legal information and court records, as well as an extensive and comprehensive law library. The globalisation of legal and commercial activity led the firm to establish links with leading Latin American law firms (LIRA) and correspondent relationships in other countries. It is also part of a network of local lawyers who handle domestic matters in the country’s major cities, including Encarnación, Ciudad del Este, Concepción, Pedro Juan Caballero, Coronel Oviedo and Villarrica.
