Daniela is an associate in BLP’s Guatemala office. Her practice areas include intellectual property, product health registrations, and advertising, marketing and consumer protection.
In intellectual property, she advises organizations on all aspects of registering, protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights, including litigation, smuggling and anti-counterfeiting matters.
In the product health registrations practice, she advises distributors and manufacturers of domestic and multinational companies on obtaining and protecting health registrations for mass-market consumer products, as well as products in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
She has also advised various companies on strategies for acquiring new portfolios of health registrations and opening production facilities, as well as on appointing local distributors for mass-market consumer products.
In advertising, marketing and consumer protection, she advises various companies on handling claims and voluntary product recalls before government authorities.
Over her 13 years of experience, she has managed trademark portfolios across Central America and the Caribbean, particularly for multinational food and beverage companies.
She joined BLP’s team as an associate in 2023, after working for 12 years as a legal assistant at Arenales & Skinner-Klée. She also worked for two years as a legal assistant at García & Bodán.
