Duarte Garin joined Uría Menéndez as a partner in 2001, the year in which Uría Menéndez became the first foreign firm authorised by the Lisbon Bar Association to open an office and provide legal services in Portugal. Since joining the firm, he has headed its Lisbon office.
He specialises in real estate law and has been involved in most of the largest real estate acquisitions and transactions in Portugal. Duarte speaks English, Spanish and French, and is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
