José Luis Fernández

José Luis Fernández Fernández joined Chevez, Ruiz, Zamarripa y Cia., at its founding on September 1, 1981. He was admitted to the partnership on January 1, 1989 and has been Managing Partner of the firm since January 1, 2007. He has focused his professional practice in the areas of complex domestic and international tax planning. On the corporate side he has advised in tax matters Mexican Public Companies listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange as well as in the New York Stock Exchange.

Education

• Public Accounting Degree, Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City Attended the "Members of the Board Development Program" and "Introduction to the Stock Market", taught by the Center of Excellence in Corporate Governance and the Mexican Stock Exchange. Attended the "Corporate Governance and Performance Program", School of Management of Yale University.

Academic Activities

• He has taught different Tax courses in the Universidad Anáhuac, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and Universidad Iberoamericana.

Memberships

• Former member of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants. Member of the Mexican Institute of Financial Executives. Member of the Audit Committees and an independent director of various public companies.

• Has authored various articles in tax matters being published in Mexico.
