María del Pilar López co-heads the firm’s intellectual property department. She advises clients on protecting intellectual property portfolios, including through administrative proceedings and litigation. Several publications, including Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, Latin Lawyer, World Trademark Review, Best Lawyers and Who is Who Legal, have recognised her as one of the leading practitioners in intellectual property.
She is responsible for developing intellectual property enforcement strategies and actions, advising major business groups in the food, beverage, technology, textile and hospitality sectors, among others. She has also advised companies on regulatory matters, personal data protection and life sciences.
She began her career as a lawyer in Zurcher’s corporate department and later took over as head of its intellectual property department in 2006, a position she held until 2 July 2021.
