Pablo has around 20 years of professional experience and has worked on numerous corporate and finance transactions, many of them cross-border and multi-jurisdictional, primarily in the energy, infrastructure and construction sectors in Europe, Latin America, the United States, China, South Africa, Israel, India and the Middle East.
Pablo focuses primarily, though not exclusively, on energy transactions. He leads the energy and infrastructure practice in Spain and is an active member of DLA’s global Energy and Natural Resources group.
He represents energy companies (IPPs), infrastructure funds and fund managers, utilities and all types of lenders in the acquisition, sale, development, construction and financing of energy projects, portfolios and companies, including renewable generation projects (utility-scale, distributed and residential solar, onshore and offshore wind, biomass, self-consumption schemes and hydropower), energy storage facilities, transmission systems, hydrogen production facilities and other energy-based transactions. He has particularly deep knowledge of the renewable energy business, having spent more than 9 years as general counsel at leading energy companies, where he led highly significant deals, including a USD 1.8 billion “bet-the-company” agreement with EIG, a private equity firm focused on the energy sector.
Pablo is also actively involved in M&A and financing transactions involving various concession-based assets.
He was named a “leading individual” in the first edition of Legal 500’s GC Powerlist for the Iberian legal market. Pablo is an active member of the Aspen Institute in Spain, an American leadership organisation.
