Personal Data Protection in LATAM: Quick Reference Guide

EY Law - The current context, which is constantly evolving, especially in view of the accelerated increase in technological improvements, the large-scale use of data, new technologies and the "digital age", is a reality that cannot be ignored and that requires us to be present and informed.

There is a need for companies to adapt to the new reality and be as well prepared as possible with a comprehensive strategy for cybersecurity and personal data protection, in particular by identifying the legal and regulatory obstacles that must be overcome and constantly updated to keep up with the pace and speed of adaptation of new technologies. For this reason, we decided to launch this second edition of the Quick Reference Guide to Personal Data Protection in LATAM.

EY accompanies companies with a global and at the same time integrated vision, with multidisciplinary teams that integrate privacy lawyers and cybersecurity IT specialists, allowing our clients to achieve the highest level of protection and prevention.

Data is and will continue to be the fuel that feeds the digital economy, an extremely valuable resource that allows us to reach more consumers and in a more precise manner, seeking to protect the fundamental rights of each individual, such as the protection of personal data. Privacy and personal data protection are at the center of attention of the general public and various government agencies.
