Latin Counsel is committed to adopting a policy of confidentiality and data protection, in order to protect the privacy of personal information obtained through its Portal, and unless it is expressly necessary to apply another law, this information is processed in accordance with the provisions of the current data protection regulations of the Panamanian Data Protection Law, No. 81, and other implementing regulations.
However, Latin Counsel reserves the right to modify the Privacy and Data Protection Rules detailed below in order to adapt them to new laws, jurisprudence, techniques or any other changes that allow it to offer better services and content, and we therefore recommend that you review these rules periodically. In these cases, Latin Counsel will announce on this page the changes introduced with reasonable anticipation of their implementation.
The rules of Confidentiality and Data Protection apply to all personal information that the user freely and voluntarily registers on the Latin Counsel network, as well as information that must be registered in order to carry out the corresponding consultation.
Users who provide personal data unequivocally consent to the incorporation of their data into the files for which Latin Counsel is responsible, and which are duly registered in the General Data Protection Registry, as well as to the computerised or non-computerised processing of such data so that they may be used by Latin Counsel to provide services and/or consultations requested by the user, as well as to send directly related information.
This entity will treat the data confidentially and will cancel, delete and/or block the data when they are inaccurate, incomplete or no longer necessary or relevant for their purpose, in accordance with the provisions of data protection legislation. In addition, you may exercise your rights at any time as explained below.
Latin Counsel informs the user that any transfer of data to be carried out will be notified to him/her when required by law, informing him/her expressly, precisely and unambiguously of the recipients of the information, the purpose for which the data will be used and the nature of the data transferred, or where applicable, where the law so provides, the user’s specific and informed consent will be requested beforehand.
All information provided by the user through the Portal must be truthful. For these purposes, the User guarantees the authenticity of all data communicated and shall keep the information provided to Latin Counsel perfectly updated so that it corresponds, at all times, to the real situation of the User. In any case, the user shall be solely responsible for any false or inaccurate statements made and for any damage caused to Latin Counsel or third parties as a result of the information provided.
Latin Counsel undertakes to comply with its obligation to maintain the secrecy of personal data. In this regard, Latin Counsel has adopted the technical and organisational measures to achieve the legally required levels of security for the protection of personal data, all in order to prevent the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised access and theft of the personal data provided.
However, the user should be aware that security measures on the Internet are not invulnerable at present and, therefore, is not safe from possible illegal and improper interference, which would not be the responsibility of Latin Counsel, as it has acted with due diligence to protect the data as determined by law.
Our website is hosted on servers located in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Latin Counsel recognises users’ right to revoke the consent granted, as well as the rights of access, cancellation, rectification and opposition to their data, which may be exercised by means of written communication providing: name and surname, photocopy of ID card or identity document, address for notification purposes, reasoned request specifying the request, date and signature.

Unless not expressly permitted by any other law, this Legal Notice is governed in each and every one of its aspects by the Panamanian Law, and the parties expressly waive the jurisdiction that corresponds to them, and submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Panama.
