Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa adds Paula Hernández Lemes as Head of Real Estate in Madrid

The renowned lawyer joins the Mexican firm after nineteen years at PwC Tax & Legal
 


Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa (Madrid) has announced the appointment of Paula Hernández Lemes as the new Head of Real Estate for Spain and Europe. Until June 2023, she was partner in charge of the Real Estate Legal practice at PwC.

Paula has extensive experience in real estate matters in Spain and Europe, working for national and international companies and family-owned groups of companies, mainly in the construction, services, hotel, retail and consumer sectors.

During her career she has been recommended by prestigious international publications such as Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.

Paula holds a Law Degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master’s Degree in Legal Consultancy from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and has completed postgraduate studies at ESADE and IESE.

With the signing of Paula, Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa continues to strengthen its commitment in Spain, with the firm intention of advising its clients in their investments in Europe and Latin America. It also  consolidates itself as a multidisciplinary "one stop shop" Firm, ready to meet all the challenges that clients may face in Spain as well as in the rest of the world.

Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa opened its Madrid office in 2018 with the aim of creating new solutions to the opportunities and relationships between Mexico and Spain, as well as to channel international investments in Latin America. Recently, as a result of their rapid growth, they moved to spacious new offices at Av. De la Castellana 35.

The Madrid office is headed by Pere Pons, who was the first lawyer to join the firm in Spain from Uría Menéndez. Pere is a renowned expert in international taxation and investment structuring. Since then, Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa has experienced a strong growth in Madrid, where it now has 20 professionals and 4 partners, including Paula Hernández.

In early 2022, the firm consolidated its position in the Spanish market with the arrival of Miguel Bastida to the firm, who has extensive experience in the tax structuring of M&A and refinancing transactions. In September of the same year, Guillermo Bueno joined the firm, allowing Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa to offer its clients a comprehensive and transversal service by reinforcing Corporate and M&A, areas of high demand and growth for the firm.
