Damma integrates Sumara Hub Legal, expanding its services and focusing on Innovation and Technology.

The pandemic has changed the way companies are managed, and technology has set a trend in the corporate world, including legal advisory services.

In this context, Damma integrates Sumara Hub Legal, a new law firm specialised in startups and venture capital, fintechs, digital transformation, securities market, blockchain, among others, areas that have presented a rapid growth trend in the market.

According to Damma partner Juan José Cárdenas, both firms have a mutual interest in cutting-edge issues in law, newlaw and innovation, as well as synergies between our practice areas and a management of the firms oriented towards clients and the well-being of the team. "Thus, one of the objectives of this integration is to broaden the services we provide to our clients, complementing each other to meet the most relevant legal requirements of their businesses. We are both young firms, but with great specialisation in areas that are now in high demand".

Damma currently advises on tax, labour, transactional, corporate, project and infrastructure matters. With the integration of Sumara, the practice areas of Financial Regulation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Capital Markets, and the Transactional area are incorporated.

Álvaro Castro, founding director of Sumara Hub Legal, points out that this merger is not only a purely business decision, but also a cultural one. "We are both young law firms, but positioned in our respective practices, as the international rankings show. Our working style as a newlaw firm, digitalised in all our processes, being multidisciplinary and working in a transversal way, without so many internal hierarchies, has allowed us to provide highly personalised advice to our clients. That is why we consider that there is a lot of synergy in the working styles of both firms, which benefits our clients and multiplies the scope of our services", Castro highlights.

It is worth noting that this is the first time in the Peruvian market that two boutique firms, both recognised in their respective specialties, make this type of integration, positioning Damma as a modern, innovative and highly specialised law firm.
