Gaia Silva Gaede Advogados Launches New Office in Madrid  

Gaia Silva Gaede Advogados (GSGA) has taken an important step towards its internationalization project with the opening of a representative office in Madrid.
Under the leadership of partner Marcos Catão, the firm intends to strengthen the support offered to its clients in commercial activities between Brazil and Spain, especially to foreign multinationals to Brazilian multinationals in the process of expansion and to Brazilian companies in search of internationalization.

Spain ranks as the second largest direct foreign investor in Brazil. In this context, it emerges as a significant opportunity for Spanish companies to enter the Brazilian market.

"We are not here to compete with local and European law firms. We are confident that this project will open many doors for Spanish as well European companies and their law firms, interested in commercial activities in Brazil, taking advantage of growth opportunities and mutual investment. The opening of this representative office is a milestone in our internationalization project", reinforces Marcos Catão.

The inauguration of the office in Madrid enhances Gaia Silva Gaede Advogados’ commitment to provide excellent services that go beyond the borders of Brazil. "We are taking an important step towards our vision of being a global legal partner and having Marcos Catão’s experience in Spain is definitely a great asset", explains Enio Zaha, founding partner of GSGA.

The rep office will assist Brazilian companies to assess the Spanish and European markets. "In the last five years we´ve been watching some Brazilian multinationals establishing european headquarters in Spain such Votorantin, JBS, BTG Pactual, CSN and Queiroz Galvao" said Catao. Besides, representing middle market companies in both sides of the Atlantic will be a focus of GAIA SILVA GAEDE repoffice.

In this context the repoffice will be representing small and midcap Latin American firms in IPO´s and listings in the so-called stock exchange alternative markets. In accordance with Catao, "stock exchanges like Madrid, Lisbon and London represents a huge opportunity for fund raising for small and mid cap latin American companies".

Marcos Catao is specialized in International and Tax Law and elected as a foreign specialist for Spain by Chambers and Partners Brazil 2023, in addition to having assumed the Presidency of IFA Latam (regional section of the International Fiscal Association - IFA ).

Gaia Silva Gaede Advogados Madrid will establish a close collaboration with local law firms, financial institutions, chambers of commerce, development agencies and the local diplomatic service, with the objective of providing specialized services both for Spanish companies interested in investing in Brazil and for Brazilian companies looking to expand their presence in the European market.
