I Squared Capital sells Energuate, subsidiary of Inkia Energy, in Guatemala

I Squared Capital, a leading global infrastructure investment manager, has announced that it has sold Energuate, its electricity distribution asset in Guatemala and a subsidiary of leading Latin American energy platform Inkia Energy, to Threelands Energy Ltd.

Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom advised Threelands Energy on the acquisition, with a team led by partner Paola Lozano, co-chair of the firm’s Latin America practice, along with associates Daniel Hernandez and Emilia Arango.

Miami-based I Squared Capital was advised by a corporate team from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher led by partner Marwan Azzi and included counsel Luca Bernini and associate Caitlin Dortch. Partner Kathryn Kelly advised on the tax aspects.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
