Mariana joined the firm in 2011 and currently coodinates the IP department in Costa Rica. She first joined as an IP Specialist in the Intellectual Property, Biotechnology, and New Technology Department. In 2014, she was promoted to lead the invention patent area and was in charge of a major patent portfolio at the national and international levels.
She is passionate about developing innovation and financing strategies for entrepreneurs, drafting patents, and registering patents and industrial designs. She has set herself apart by developing intellectual property strategies for large companies as well as for innovators and micro, small, and medium enterprises in matters relating to innovation. To do so, she has worked with the public sector and private funds to seek financing for generating, scaling, and protecting intangible goods. She also consults for national and international companies on identifying their intangible goods and on developing and protecting them.
She is a renowned speaker at conferences on matters related to intellectual property and has published several articles in her specialty. Our clients have applauded her ability related to manage knowledge in the area of patents and support for innovators.
