Chile — Carey participated in the financing of up to USD 45 million secured by Aguas Pacífico, a company owned by Patria Investments, in a transaction supporting the development of its desalination and water transportation projects in Chile.
Carey’s team on the transaction comprised Felipe Moro, Partner; Agustín Domínguez, Associate; and Felipe Dalgalarrando, Associate.
The financing, signed on July 29, 2026, consists of a bridge facility structured as a Blue Loan and provides short-term holding-company financing linked to the development of the Aconcagua Project.
Through Aguas Pacífico Holding, the financing will support the development of the company’s infrastructure in Chile’s Valparaíso and Metropolitan regions.
The Aconcagua Project includes a desalination plant with an approximate capacity of 1,000 liters per second, an approximately 78-kilometer aqueduct and a 110/23 kV electrical substation.
The transaction involved legal work across Chile, the United States —under New York law—, Spain and Uruguay.
Milbank advised Aguas Pacífico, with a team comprising Roland Estévez, Daniel Ríos and Jack Gillen.
Natixis, New York Branch was advised by Guerrero Olivos and White & Case, with teams led by Miguel Coddou and Thomas Pate, respectively.
Carey’s participation, through Felipe Moro, Agustín Domínguez and Felipe Dalgalarrando, formed part of the legal work surrounding a financing connected to one of Chile’s significant water infrastructure projects currently under development.
