Celepsa buys Termochilca
The definitive agreement for the acquisition of all the shares representing the capital stock of Termochilca S.A., as well as its credits against financial creditors (senior debt and subordinated bonds), has been signed in Lima, Perú. The buyer is Compañía Eléctrica El Platanal S.A. – CELEPSA.
Termochilca is a company dedicated to the generation and sale of electricity and has a combined cycle thermal power plant located in the district of Chilca, province of Cañete, with an installed capacity of 300 MW. CELEPSA is also dedicated to the generation of electricity and has 2 hydroelectric plants, one located in the provinces of Yauyos and Cañete with an installed capacity of 220 MW, and another located in the province of Huamalíes, for the development of 19.4 MW of power. CELEPSA is part of the Unacem Group, a conglomerate with a diversified portfolio. This transaction will allow CELEPSA to increase its current capacity and strengthen its position in the Peruvian electricity market. The operation has a value of US$ 141 million.
The closing of the transaction is subject to obtaining authorization for prior control of concentrations by the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property - INDECOPI.
