F. A. Arias & Muñoz welcomes new partner

F. A. Arias & Muñoz, Nicaragua, has recently named Bertha Argüello de Rizo as partner at their office in Managua, Nicaragua. She joined F.A. Arias & Muñoz, Nicaragua in 2003, after concluding public service as Deputy Foreign Affairs Secretary.

Her legal expertise is centered mainly in Corporate Law, Banking Law, Energy Law and Investment Law. She has advised both local an international coorporations in project financing and guaranty structuring and most recently coordinated the incorporation and opening of a major banking institution in Nicaragua.

Argüello de Rizo obtained her Juris Doctor Degree (Summa Cum Laude) from the Universidad Autónoma de Centroamerica in 1993 and is both admitted to the Bar in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, also authorized as a Notary Public in both jurisdictions. Graduate studies were continued at Harvard Law School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she obtained a Master of Laws degree in 1995.

F. A. Arias & Muñoz is leader in the region having created an innovative approach: a firm with its own offices in the five countries of Central America. It represents a number of well known international companies from North and South America, Europe and the Far East, many of them included in the Fortune 500 list. The firm has participated in a wide range of international transactions in Central America, which include project finance, international contracts, issuances, and mergers and acquisitions, among others.
