Head of Morgan Lewis?s Latin America Practice Joins Hughes Hubbard
Eduardo Vidal has joined the Latin America Practice of Hughes Hubbard & Reed as a partner in the firm?s New York office.
Vidal, who was born in Cuba and speaks Spanish fluently, focuses his practice on all the countries of Latin America, with a particular emphasis on Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Chile. He has experience in all phases of international financing transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, global capital markets offerings, and infrastructure financings and restructurings.
Vidal?s practice covers industries such as telecommunications and media, energy including electric power, petroleum and natural gas, and infrastructure construction including toll roads and water works. He also represents financial institutions throughout Latin America including investment banks, commercial banks and institutional advisors. The clients he has represented include Calyon Securities, TIM Brasil, Central Termica Guemes, Jugos del Valle and Grupo Mexicano de Desarrollo.
Timothy McCarthy, chair of the Firm?s Latin America practice and head of the Firm?s Miami office, noted that Ed Vidal?s presence in New York would expand the Firm?s ability to handle complex Latin American transactions.
