Jorge Trelles joins Hernández & Cía.

Hernández & Cía. announced the appointment of Jorge Trelles as partner, strengthening its capabilities in Corporate/M&A and financial transactions. Trelles has nearly 25 years of experience in M&A and financing transactions and joins the firm at a time of increased investment activity and transactions requiring a high degree of financial and transactional specialization.

Trelles is the second transactional partner from Rodrigo to join Hernández & Cía. in the past month, following Nydia Guevara, partner in Banking & Finance, Capital Markets and Fintech. Trelles spent nearly 25 years at Rodrigo advising on highly complex corporate and financial transactions.

Throughout his career, Trelles has advised companies and investors on M&A processes and domestic and international financial transactions across sectors including mining, energy and infrastructure, among others, and also has significant experience in project finance. His career has been consistently recognized by leading international legal directories.

He also brings international experience from his time at Allen & Overy — now A&O Shearman — in New York, where he participated in transactions across different Latin American countries.

Trelles’ appointment follows other recent moves by Hernández & Cía. in its transactional and projects practices. In addition to the arrival of Nydia Guevara from Rodrigo, the firm also hired Carlos Núñez and his Projects, Infrastructure and Construction team from DLA Piper earlier this year.

Jorge Trelles holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
