New SNAP-GT platform modernizes and streamlines healthcare procedures in Guatemala
BLP Legal - The Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance of Guatemala (MSPAS) has officially launched the SNAP-GT platform, a new digital tool designed to centralize and streamline health regulatory processes in the country for the processed (prepackaged) food sector. This system will enable a range of procedures related to sanitary registrations, licenses, and authorizations to be carried out online, representing a significant step toward the modernization of administrative services in the health sector.
The SNAP-GT platform (National System for Processed Foods) will be mandatory for applicants, and its implementation will take place in several phases, substantially transforming the way procedures are managed before the Department of Food Regulation and Control of the Ministry. During the first phase, which was recently launched, companies will be able to carry out user account creation (applicants), registration of holder companies, and manual uploading of sanitary registrations and licenses.
At BLP, we continuously monitor this type of reform and technological development that directly impacts our clients in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries.
Our Regulatory Affairs team in Guatemala is ready to assist companies in properly adapting their procedures through SNAP-GT, offering strategic and technical advice for process migration, updating of requirements, and regulatory compliance before the MSPAS.
